Hello there… I'm Wendy, a highly experienced, award-winning, and results-driven CIM-qualified marketer with a natural creative flair. I work as a freelance marketing specialist and consultant through my business The VA Project, to help take SMEs and start-up businesses to the next level.
My passions lie in helping people get clarity and direction in their marketing, using tried-and-tested marketing strategies and often a mindset shift. Having been in the marketing game for over 15 years, I’m extremely knowledgeable in effective B2B marketing strategy and traditional and digital marketing techniques to generate leads and increase revenue.
My journey has taken me through various industries – manufacturing, engineering, healthcare, cyber security, and even fashion and travel, to name just a few, so have a look below and find out more about how we can work together to achieve amazing things for your business!
Get to know me
Let me tell you, school was tough… For a creative girl, the academic side of things was something I had to work hard at. I needed to use my imagination and creativity in my work so followed the path of performing arts…
After graduating with a Performing Arts degree, I qualified as a teacher with a PGCE in post compulsory education. I was proud to be offered a job teaching, but I followed my heart and headed to Mallorca where I worked as a family entertainer for four years.
When I came back to the UK, I began working for a medical equipment manufacturer assisting the Sales Director with business development and administration tasks. This quickly led me into marketing where I became responsible for the entire marketing function. During my 10 years, I learnt on the job and worked hard to gain my official CIM certification.
I then worked for a multi-million pound business managing a marketing team and enormous budgets facing many new challenges. But I missed working at a SME where I would really make a difference so I worked for an engineering business when Covid hit…
That flipped everything for me as it did so may people. I decided to take the plunge and work for myself and offer virtual assistant services. But I immediately got marketing work and found myself quickly booked up with clients building websites, running social media, building email marketing campaigns, helping businesses with their branding, develop lead magnets.
And here I am, working with a diverse range of B2B business, putting everything I’ve learnt from my employment and creative background into practice to help businesses grow.
